CCMS Profile

Curtis Corner Middle School is dedicated to providing a responsive education that meets the needs of young adolescents in personlized, small communities.
Teachers and students are team-based, meaning that a group of students share the same group of core teachers. Teachers meet collaboratively every day to share best practices and work together to reach mutually agreed upon goals.

There are apporximately 600 students that are divided into six teams:
Grade Seven:
Team Liberty
Team Enterprise
Team Freedom

Grade Eight:
Team Defender
Team Intrpid
Team Courageous

Mission Statement
To provide a safe learning environment that develops the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.  In partnership with families and the community, our goal is to enable children to be clear thinking communicators and enthusiastic life-long learners.  CCMS will provide a challenging standards-based learning community with clear expectations and responsibilities that gives all students the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to contribute in a meaningful way to society.

School Improvement Goals
Goal One: Students will be able to show relationships with tables, graphs and other visual representations and interpret and explain their meaning verbally and through writing across the curriculum according to state GLE’s in math, writing and reading.

Goal Two: Students will be able to select from a variety of problem solving strategies across the curriculum and be able to solve problems and justify the solutions verbally and through writing.

Goal Three: Students will be able to analyze and interpret text and make connections through the use of various reading strategies across the curriculum.

Goal Four: Students will be able to develop academically, socially, emotionally and physically through school-wide reforms and policies that support a personalized learning community.
