H1N1  INFORMATION  ~

We have seen relatively large numbers of influenza like illness at our school during the past couple of weeks.  I am encouraging parents to keep their children home until they have fully recovered. We have seen many students come back to school before they are fully recovered and have a relapse of the illness.   This period appears to be the time when students are at greatest risk.  Being fully recovered means many things.:
Your child should feel strong enough to go to class all day,
They should be eating and drinking in ordinary amounts,
They should be getting adequate sleep.

-       They also should be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing   medication.
In addition I recommend that students stay out until their cough is gone.

Influenza like illness is spread through the coughing and sneezing of people who are sick with the flu. Students with flu like symptoms may be contagious 1 day before getting sick to 5-7 days after getting sick. This period of contagion   may be longer in some people.
Please be aware CCM S has revised the make-up work policy during this time; students will be given 2 weeks after they return to make up work.
Thank you for helping to keep our school community healthy!!   If you have any questions please contact me @ 360-1341 .

Thanks again
Susan Darby
