MRS. LONG and MR. POPE
Health classes meet every other day for one semester for a total of 45 classes per year.
Students are graded on quizzes, homework, projects, and participation and will receive a letter grade on their report card.
Supplies Needed for class for all grades are: A folder with 2 pockets inside. Place some lined paper (10 sheets) in one folder pocket or a one subject notebook for notetaking. A pencil or pen.

EIGHTH GRADE - Eating disorders; Project Northland Alcohol Prevention Program, Substance Use & Abuse, Other classes of drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc); Reproductive Unit, Teen Pregnancy, Contraceptives, STD's, HIV/AIDS; Healthy/Unhealthy Relationships, Teen Dating Violence & healthy relationships, Sexual Harrassment

7th and 8th Grade ARTICLE SUMMARIES: students will complete a total of 4 article summaries. Students may read a "current events" news article from newspapers or magazines (and internet news sites only) on ANY health topic. Write a 6 sentence summary & answer the 4 questions on the handout. Hand in summary AND article. No summaries will be accepted without a copy of the article itself. Each summary is worth two homework grades. 5pts off for each class late, past due date. Articles only accepted up to two weeks late.
