Welcome. National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes 5 pillars: citizenship, character, leadership, service, and scholarship. To be an eligible member, students must maintain all A's and no more than2 B's for Quarter 1, 2, and 3.
Scholarship: Students must maintain all A's and no more than 2 B's for Quarters 1, 2, and 3.
Citizenship: Students need to participate in two school or community activities. Examples include but are not limited to: Sports, Band, School Clubs, Church Groups, Boy Scouts
Service: Students must complete 15 hours of volunteer work outside of school hours. Examples include, but are not limited to: helping a teacher or coach, making meals for the Jonnycake Center, helping out at the Recreation Center, peer tutoring, helping a neighbor, or making cards for the Senior Center.
Leadership: Students must show initiative and leadership skills. The activity can occur periodically or be a one time event. Examples include but are not limited to: being an officer of a school club, captain of a sports team, working with a coach and organizing a practice for a younger group, organizing a collection for the animal shelter, domestic violence center, or church, or leading a group through Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts.
Character: Eligible NJHS students are expected to be good role models and exercise good judgment. Character includes traits of honesty, fairness, courtesy, tolerance, and inclusiveness. striving daily to make the right choice. Behavioral write-ups are grounds for dismissal and will be determined through a review by the NJHS Advisor and the CCMS administration.

Yes. In order for the candidate's application to be considered complete, he or she must properly address each category; Community Service Hours (15 hours), Leadership, and Citizenship (2 Activities).
